Headquartered in Utah, Salt of the Earth is a home grown company that creates fresh, down-to-earth spa treatments and products for every occasion. Salt of the Earth hand mixes natural ingredients with essential scents to create bath and body concoctions as unique as their customers. And their bath salts really come from the Great Salt Lake! Salt of the Earth salts are produced through the natural evaporation of the water. Salt water is captured in shallow ponds along the Great Salt Lake and allowed to evaporate by means of the sun and wind. During this process, a salt bed forms on the bottom of the pond. The salt is then harvested, washed, screened and packaged. The typical solarized salt crop takes from one to five years to produce.
Paul Heslop, the owner at Salt Earth Spa was kind enough to let me try his companies products. Each bottle is individually made, sealed and autographed by its mixer/creator. In this case Paul himself crafted my Salt Glow Body Scrub in “Nilla” and Body Wash in “Silk” scent with a tiny message on the side of each. Both scents transported my senses to an exotic locale and the comforting warmth of a familiar place. And the lovely Kate created by "Cabana Boy" scented Whipped Body Crème that instantly made my skin as smooth and soft as butter. In that moment I was completely relaxed as if I was in a spa retreat in the mountains or detoxing in the salt flats of The Great Salt Lake, Utah.
